Moorestown School of Music is a growing Suzuki music school currently offering music lessons in piano and violin, and is expanding to other instruments. Moorestown is a well-educated, historic community in southern New Jersey located 20 minutes by car from Center City Philadelphia, 40 minutes from Princeton and Wilmington. Suzuki Positions

       Suzuki Violin Teacher This job is to take over a current class of 12 students, ranging from pre-Twinklers through Book 2, plus beginners off a wait list.  It would start as 2 days a week, but for a teacher who wants more and is willing to go out into the community to drum up business, it would grow to more days.  We have studio space Monday-Friday.  The successful candidate can start as early as June, and hopefully no later than September.

Duties. Teaching private lessons to children and adults and group lessons to children. Attend and help organize recitals and other events. Work cooperatively with the faculty.

Training Support Available. A grant of up to $700 is available for Suzuki training at an institute this summer (2009). Contact the Executive Director for more information. 

Suzuki Instrument Teachers

Qualifications for all Suzuki Teachers: Successful candidates will have a positive attitude. Enthusiasm! Love and respect for children. Strong commitment to the Suzuki philosophy. Registered teacher training (minimum old IA and IB or new Every Child Can and Book 1) with the SAA or equivalent. Ability to work with students, parents and other teachers. Bachelor of Arts and/or Music Degree(s) preferred. Commitment to attend one Suzuki teacher training class per year, at least through Book IV, partially subsidized by Moorestown School of Music.

Salary. Rate depends on experience and education. Income depends on the number of hours taught during the week. Excellent growth potential.

Volunteer Receptionist. Volunteers wanted for 2-3 hours in the afternoon one or more days per week to answer phone and greet students.
